Jared Alan Rowe
Creative Director & Artist
Creative Director with many skill-sets in Animation & Design. Driven by the passion to create amazing experiences and to inspire others to create.
In the second-grade, my teacher asked us to choose and read a biography from the library and then write our own autobiography from the future perspective of ourselves. Many of my classmates chose doctors and looking back it’s surprising how many wanted to be lawyers and superheroes. I chose Steven Spielberg, and I wrote about how I had directed many great films. However, the moment I recall the most is when my teacher asked me if I really thought it was possible to become a director. I remember responding with confidence, “Someone has to make the movies.”
Nowadays, I can be found all around parks and playgrounds during the day with my kids. If I’m not climbing up a jungle gym to get Jace, or crawling under a slide for Jax, I’m probably cooking a delicious meal at the house. No, seriously I love to cook and I’m a total Alton Brown fan boy. I have a beautiful wife, Maria, and without her I would either fall apart or explode, or both. Maria and I have actually been together since high school and have been married going on four years now. We’ve both always dreamed of raising a family and now that we are doing it, as crazy as it is, it’s the greatest time of my life.
Since I was a child I’ve not only been intrigued by story, but I’ve always been a storyteller and a dreamer. By the time I was in high school, after many years of making movies with action figures and KidPix, I landed a position at a local TV station. From commercials to animated spoofs, I found myself creating endlessly. In return, I earned myself a full-time position right out of high school. Even though it was almost impossible to attend film school full time and work full time, it’s one of the reasons I have such a fierce work ethic.
After film school, I realized that visual storytelling was my strong suit and even though I was well versed on set and behind the camera, my obsession for editing and animation took over and became my passion. While working as an editor, animator & motion designer at DNP Studios for a few years, I was granted time off with pay to pursue my very first Feature Film “Out on Parole.”
Shortly after finishing the film, my brother and I resumed our partnership at the company we had created years earlier, Doctrine, LLC. Doctrine is a full in-house creation engine that is staffed on a flat-structure (without hierarchy) and has operated debt-free since the start in 2006.
I, along with my friends & team, design and create visuals and experiences for companies such as Disney, Nickelodeon, and SeaWorld. We also recently finished two feature-length documentaries, “Within Reach,” which is currently being viewed internationally and “One Simple Question,” which is touring the festival circuit since its world premiere at the Blue Ocean Film Festival in Tampa.
Over the past several years, I’ve been learning to code and have been developing mobile games in Unity. I currently have a game, “Good Luck Duck,” on the App Store, which is really addicting and can be played to win real money.
Being part of developing Doctrine into what it is today has been one of the most incredible experiences for me. At Doctrine, we look out for each other’s needs and push each other to challenge ourselves. It allows me the freedom to raise my boys during the day while my wife teaches her 4th graders; and also allows me to pursue the projects I am most passionate about.
I’ve found that the most important things in life and in business are to listen and encourage strong communication between others and to passionately understand why you make the decisions you make and do what you do.
Other than to be the world’s best dad and the most loving husband, my goals are to simply stretch as far as I can to become the strongest artist I can possibly be. Not only as an example for my children, but also to that second grader who knew it wouldn’t be easy, but also knew that anything is possible.

Access Osceola (AOTV)
A local television station where I worked while in High School and a year or so after High School while I attended Film School. My roles here included everything from producing weekly television shows & animated shorts to managing interns & budgeting for purchases in the studio, and even set design and construction. A wide range of skills were learned at a very young age with this opportunity and for that I am forever grateful and an advocate for High School internships.
Valencia Film Program
Steven Spielberg himself said the Valencia Film Program is “one of the best available in the country.” I attended Valencia Community College from 2004 – 2006 in the Film Production Program. Since graduating I have kept a close relationship with the Director of the program Ralph Clemente and we even produced a film together in 2009 which will soon be released on YouTube as a web-series.
